Happy Thanksgiving (eve) to all my fellow Americans! I must confess Thanksgiving isn’t really my favorite holiday because I am not a fan of turkey…but I like all sides that go along with it, especially pumpkin pie.
Lovely Lines CAL – Border Week 2 (Week 47)
Using either a Standing DC or a ch3, join your border color into the top right corner with the RS facing you (so you can read the “Lovely Lines” panel).
Rnd 2: Make another dc into corner space (this is half of a corner, you will finish this corner at the end of the round). Continue to dc in each st down the blanket to the next corner. *(2 dc, ch2, 2dc) into the corner st. Dc across to next corner st.* Repeat inside * to last corner. Finish the corner you started with by doing 2dc, then make an hdc into the top of your starting dc/ch3. Ch1, turn, Stacked SC OR Ch3, turn.
Top/Bottom: 233 dc sts
Sides: 382 dc sts
Corners: ch2
Rnd 3: Dc again into corner where your dc/ch3 is (half a corner). *Dc in next st, ch1 sk 1st* rep across* ending on a dc. Work (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in corner sp; rep between * ending side with the “ch1 sk 1 st” then work (2dc, ch2, 2dc in corner sp. Repeat the ladder pattern around, ending by completing your first corner as in Round 2. Ch1, turn, Stacked SC OR Ch3, turn.
Top/Bottom: 237 sts (“dc, ch1, sk 1st” across – dc & ch sps count as a st)
Sides: 386 sts “dc, ch1, sk 1st” across – dc & ch sps count as a st)
Corners: ch2
Rnd 4: Make another Dc into the corner space. *Dc in every st across (in all dcs and ch spaces) to the next corner; work (2dc, ch2, 2dc) into the corner ch2 sp. Repeat between * around your blanket. Finish off your starting corner by working one more dc into the corner space. Ch2 and slst into starting. DO NOT TURN. You should be ready to work across the top of your blanket and the right side should be facing you.
Top/Bottom: 241 dc sts
Sides: 390 dc sts
Corners: ch2
