Tour de France Filet Crochet Along ~ Week 1, Part 1

Hello and Welcome to a fun, FREE, new summer filet crochet along project! This crochet along begins today, Friday July 1st. Rows will rereleased on Fridays and Mondays for the next 10 weeks – with the final part being released on Friday, September 2, 2022.

Please be sure to read through all the important details for the Tour de France Filet CAL in this detailed post before you get started on the rows below! This is also where I’ll collect all the links to the parts, so those joining in after the original CAL dates can still easily locate all the parts to make an awesome Tour de France themed blanket.

Panel 1 – Bikes 🇫🇷

Choose your start method below. Use Color Blocking to create bikes in the color order of the French Flag.

1. The Foundation Row Crochet Start – FDC 61sts in red, 59 sts in white, 61 sts in blue (181 sts total).

2. The Chain Start + Row 1: ch61 in blue, ch59 in white, ch63 in red; dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across; (61 blue, 59 white, 61 red for 181 sts total).

After either your FDC, or your Chain Start and Row 1 completion, you’ll continue on to Row 2 below.

Row 2: 2 [ 8 , ( 1 , ) x4 then 25 , ( 1 , ) x4 then 8 ] x3 then 2

Row 3: 2 ( 6 , 11 , 21 , 11 , 6 ) x3 then 2

Row 4: 2 ( 5 , 13 , 8 , 1 , 1 , 6 , 13 , 5 ) x3 then 2

Row 5: 2 ( 4 , 15 , 10 , 1 , 1 , 2 , 15 , 4 ) x3 then 2

Row 6: 2 [ 4 , 6 , 1 , 2 , ( 1 , ) x5 then 11 , 6 , 1 , 6 , 4 ] x3 then 2

Row 7: 2 ( 4 , 5 , 1 , 1 , 5 , 9 , 2 , 1 , 2 , 5 , 1 , 1 , 5 , 4 ) x3 then 2

Row 8: 2 ( 4 , 6 , 1 , 6 , 1 , 7 , 7 , 6 , 1 , 6 , 4 ) x3 then 2

Row 9: 2 ( 4 , 9 , 5 , 5 , 8 , 2 , 4 , 10 , 4 ) x3 then 2

Row 10: 2 ( 5 , 11 , 1 , 3 , 10 , 4 , 3 , 9 , 5 ) x3 then 2
