Congratulations! You’ve made it to the end of the Tour de France Filet CAL. Thanks so much for joining me in this adventure. The official border brings together the whole blanket, using the same striped Moss Stitch pattern as the rest weeks for a nice, simple “restful” border.
Border
I prefer to change colors around my blanket to match the panels. This makes a beautiful, clean transition from blanket body to border. No matter your preference, you’ll need to complete the “set up round” before adding any kind of border to your blanket.
Set Up Round: Join chosen color into top right corner and make 2sc in the very first st (first sc is corner), then sc across. 2sc into the last st (last sc is the corner).
Rotate your blanket to work down the side. Make 2sc around each dc post (or row) and 1sc around each sc post (or row) down the side.
Rotate your blanket to work along the bottom. 2sc into the first st along the bottom of the work (first sc is corner). Sc across, 2sc in last st (last sc is corner).
Rotate your blanket to work up the last side. Make 2sc around each dc post (or row) and 1sc around each sc post (or row) down the side. Join with a slst to your first sc. Finish off color.
Restful Border
Stripe the following rows to match the order of your Rest Weeks.
Rnds 1-6: Join stripe color in any corner st. I like to join each color in a different corner to spread out the bulk from sewing in my ends. Work [ (sc, ch1, sc) then do *ch1, sk 1 st, sc in next st* repeat between * across to next corner st ]. Repeat between bolded [ ] around your blanket. Join with a slst to first sc. Finish off color.
Rnd 7: Join final stripe color in any corner space. Do (sc, ch1, sc) in each corner space and then sc in every stitch/ch space along the sides.
