Stitches & Terms Used in this Pattern (US terms)
Magic Ring
– If you don’t like the Magic Ring: ch4, slst to first ch to join into a ring, then ch1 and proceed with the pattern stitches, working around the ring of chains. Your center hole might be a little larger than mine, but this won’t effect the rest of the pattern.
rnd – round
st – stitch
sp – space
slst – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
Granny Cluster (GC) – 3dc in same st/sp
dc2tog – double crochet two together (also called a dc decrease)
Bobble Stitch (Bobble) –
- Yarn over (yo), insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop. YO, pull through two loops (this is like completing the first “half” of a dc).
- Repeat number one in the same stitch/space until you have a total of 6 loops on your hook – you will have made “half of a dc” 5 times.
- YO & pull through all 6 loops at once.
Special Stitches in this Pattern
Two of the below methods are totally optional. My round join technique isn’t however, since that is what will create the duel-color corners.
Standing Double Crochet (optional) – picture tutorial on page 3
Single Crochet Round Join – picture tutorial on page 4
Stacked SC (optional) – picture tutorial on page 5
