  • This blanket can be decreased in size by using DK weight yarn & a 4mm hook.

      • Corner Skulls: 372 yards (340m) total – or 93 yards per skull (85m)
      • Top/Bottom Heart Sections: 396 yards (362m) total – or 198 yards (181m) per section
      • Side Heart Panels: 630 (576m) total – or 315 yards (288m) per panel 
      • Center Panel: 733 yards (670m)
  • Granny Border: 277+ yards (253m) depending on how thick you go

Pattern Notes

  • This pattern is worked from the bottom up and turned for each new row. It has no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ side and can be worked as written for either right or left hand hook holders.
  • A graph for this pattern can be found on the final page of this pattern.
  • This pattern can be made with any weight yarn & hook, but the finished size is approximately 30 by 35 inches (76 by 89 cm) using the yarn & hook listed below to complete the base pattern as written and pictured on the cover.
  • This pattern can easily be increased to a larger size. Please see page 4 for custom sizing st counts.

Stitch Abbreviations & Techniques ~ US Crochet Terms

st(s) - stitch(es)

ch - chain

picot - ch3, slst into 3rd ch from hook

GC - Granny Cluster: 3dc in same stitch

GCD - Granny Cluster Decrease: dc in st, dc2tog starting in the same st as previous dc and ending in the next st, then make another dc into same st the dc2tog finished in - you should have a 3dc “granny cluster” that is spread over 2 sc sts. Video Tutorial

CC - Corner Cluster: (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in same stitch
