For each blanket you’ll be able to see the yarn brand, weight, and the yarn colors for each of the Hogwarts Houses. Hopefully, there will be lots of options for you no matter where in the world you are! You can use these Hogwarts House yarn color combos for creating any crochet project you have in mind – but the colors look great with the Hogwarts Houses blankets!

Which yarn brands are covered?

The brands covered in the projects below are some of the most popular in the U.S and U.K. Included are Stylecraft Special DK, Paintbox Simply DK, Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn (which is a worsted/aran weight), Charity DK, and a combo of Red Heart/Mainstays (both worsted weights).

Not my typical “tester showcase” but I thought it would be fun to highlight the yarn specifically since all the blankets are in the same color scheme.

Ravenclaw: Soft Fudge & Sailor Blue
Hufflepuff: Mustard Yellow & Pure Black
Slytherin: Grass Green & Stormy Grey

For this blanket, two stands were held together to make a bigger, thicker blanket than DK alone. This made it more like a worsted (aran/8ply) blanket. For the striping areas, two different colors were help together – isn’t the effect neat?!
