Color Crayons Blanket
Color Crayons Blanket
Pattern Notes 🧶This pattern is worked from the bottom up and turned for each new row. It can be worked as one piece or you can work. the crayons separately and join them (pattern included for doing so). 🧶Left-hand hook holders follow this pattern as written, noting that the ‘right side’ [RS] is actually the ‘wrong side’ [WS] for you. This means when you crochet even rows, you will be able to read the words. If you consult the graph, remember to read right to left on odd rows & left to right on even rows. 🧶This pattern can be made with any weight yarn & hook, but the finished size is approximately 50x63 inches using the yarn & hook listed below to complete a 6-crayon blanket. Crayons names included are Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet, Purple, and Pink. 🧶Yarn & Supplies

  • One-Piece Border: 200 yards worsted weight

What yarns are good for these shawl projects?

    • As with all my designs, you can use ANY yarn that you like best along with the corresponding hook.
    • The amount of yarn you use will greatly depend on how you like to wear your shawls, and of course the weight of your yarn, hook size, and personal tension will all play into the mix.
    • I'll be giving yarn amounts for mostly Fine weight yarn to use up my hoarded Hobbii Azalea cakes. I'll also be using hand-dyed 4ply and acrylic DK for some of the patterns, too. So really - any yarn will do! It all depends on how warm you want your shawl to be and what yarn you have on hand...or what yarn you want to purchase. 😉
    • I am purposely making sure all the patterns are repeatable so you can size them as needed to fit your yarn weight and your size preference! You could even turn them into blankets if you're a little more advanced & adventurous!
    • The patterns will be mainly triangle shawls. There will be a couple wrap-syle shawls (long rectangular shape), and I may even decide to throw in a couple asymmetrical styles, too.

Majestic Moss Blanket
Majestic Moss Blanket
Pattern Notes
  • Gauge is not necessary for this project. One finished square measures approximately 8 inches and the completed blanket is approximately 45x65 inches using the yarn & hook listed below.
  • You can make a larger or smaller version using more or less squares, or by changing your yarn weight & hook size. I recommend going up .5-1mm in hook size from what you normally use with your chosen yarn.
  • Color options are endless for this design, though I would recommend no less than 4 colors + the Main Color to ensure a pleasing layout of square types/colors.
  • This blanket consists of Moss Stitch squares. Each square has 17 rounds. All squares are completed and then joined in the Main Color using the continuous method to create a stunning effect of floating whole and stencil-like squares.
Yarn & Supplies
      • 6.5mm Hook
      • Worsted Weight Yarn in the following amounts (Mega Ball Aran color names/numbers are listed if you would like to replicate the blanket on the cover):

HP Blanket Mod: Spell Phrases & Words
HP Blanket Mod: Spell Phrases & Words
⚠️YOU WILL NEED THE HP MISCHIEF MANAGED BLANKET TO USE THESE LETTERING PANEL MODS⚠️ Pictures are just EXAMPLES using this HP Blanket Mod Pattern AND the original HP Blanket. Pattern Notes
  • You will need the Mischief Managed (Harry Potter) Blanket pattern to use these wording panels as show on the cover examples.
  • All the word panels are worked from the bottom up.
  • Spell phrases (ex. ‘Expecto Patromun’) are meant to be kept together as one panel.
  • Make sure to turn the blanket so you can read the words as you work the initial sc edging to set up for the border.
Right Hand Hook Holders
  • Using more than spell word/phrase in a blanket: Make sure you can read your first lettered panel when you start each following lettered panel.
Left Hand Hook Holders In the pattern, the [RS] rows (odd rows) will actually end up being the [WS] of your finished blanket. This means the words will be correctly facing you when you are working a [WS] row (even row). You can work the panels exactly as written. Just remember - if you choose to read the charts - be sure you read the odd rows right to left, and the even rows left to right, because that is how the numerical rows are written out. Please trust me - it will work.
  • Using more than one word in a blanket: This gets a little hard for me to explain well. Basically, you need to note during Row 1 of ‘your first word which side is the [RS] according to the pattern markings. Then you need to be sure an begin each following word panel with the same side facing you so that each new word will face the same direction as the others.

HP Blanket Mod: Snuggle this Muggle
⚠️YOU WILL NEED THE HP MISCHIEF MANAGED BLANKET TO USE THESE LETTERING PANEL MODS⚠️ Pictures are just EXAMPLES using this HP Blanket Mod Pattern AND the original HP Blanket. Snuggle this Muggle! This HP Mod pattern comes with two different versions of the wording "Snuggle this Muggle' to be used as a grouped set of words or to place as you like along with the other HP Blanket panels. Pattern Notes
  • You will need the Mischief Managed (Harry Potter) Blanket pattern to use these wording panels as show on the cover examples.
  • SNUGGLE THIS MUGGLE comes with two options: the phrase grouped together (p.3-4) or the words broken up (p.4-5).
  • All the word panels are worked from the bottom up - so be sure that if you are breaking them up you work ‘muggle’ first.
  • Make sure to turn the blanket so you can read the words as you work the initial sc edging to set up for the border.
Right Hand Hook Holders
  • Words grouped together: follow the pattern as written.
  • Breaking up the word panels: begin with ‘muggle.’ Make sure you can read ‘muggle’ when you start ‘this,’and then again when you begin ‘snuggle.’
November Shawl
November Shawl
Pattern Notes
  • This pattern can be worked with any weight yarn and hook but I created the pattern using a hand dyed sock yarn (80% Superwash Merino + 20% Nylon) dyed by Northern Bee Studio in the ‘Wanton’ color way.
  • The fabric created from this pattern is meant to be soft, loose, and stretchy. If you choose to use DK yarn, then I would recommend a 6mm-6.5mm hook. Keep in mind that if you choose to block your work, it should be very stretchy and will grow in size during this process.
  • The base width of the pattern is 20 inches wide unblocked - and this changes to 25” blocked (stretching the width tight to its widest). The length will be a matter of personal preference. The yardage listed below should be plenty for all length preferences, as mine is over 7 feet at its unblocked length…which is awesome in my opinion (endless styling options at that size) but probably longer than most would prefer.

However, I am happy to provide you a copy if you ask - just drop me an email.
Supplies

A Spiderweb Blanket? Many have ask - and YES - an official Spiderweb Blanket will be coming next September (2024). And yes, you may be skilled enough to make a blanket using the shawl pattern. Go you! Just don't forget to give credit to Mayhem & Majesty if you do, because this pattern is under copyright - and simply turning my half square into a full square is not making your own pattern 😉
