Fall is always a good time to get organized, so I’ve join the Organized October wip-along hosted on IG by Laura of @goslingandplumb. This isn’t the first year I’ve taken part, so I already know the benefits of having community support cheering you on to get projects finished! It’s really encouraging to know other people are working on their lists alongside – and sharing makes it even more fun (and amps up the accountability to actually DO the things on your list).
If you haven’t heard about Organized October, let me explain! It’s simply a WIP-along where we all work on our own projects – but can share and encourage each other along the way. There’s something about having others to celebrate with you when you complete something on your list! This isn’t just for crochet either – you can WIP-along with any crafty project, even home projects – anything that you’d like encouragement on as you work!
Laura has made some cute printables to help list off WIPs (more on that in a minute). This is my ‘bingo’ sheet. Most of my projects are crochet-related, but a few are some are work related. It’s wonderful that there’s not so many spaces on this sheet as to be overwhelming – because my to-do list is honestly never ending!
It will be good to focus on a smaller list – much more manageable! I’m sure I can get at least three in a row – though I’m hoping for a blackout!
If you’re on Instagram then you can follow @goslingandplumb and ask her about being added to the chat group for the month! It’s a lovely group of others partaking in Organized October this year and they are a super fun and supportive bunch! Just head to Laura’s profile and send her a DM asking to be added in – hopefully I’ll ‘see’ you there.
If you’re not on instagram, then you can still enjoy encouragement for your Organized October in the Mayhem and Majesty Facebook group where I’ll be posting the weekly prompts. There will be a few days a week where I’ll start a thread (motivation Monday, WIP Wednesday, Finished Object Friday, and Celebration Saturday. You’ll be able to share your thoughts and photos in the threads and be cheered on as your work on your projects. I hope you’ll join in – it’s much more fun to complete projects when you have a community of crafty friends working along side you. And who knows – seeing their projects may inspire you to try new crafts or new patterns!
Where can I get the printables?! Since I know many of you are not instagram users, I asked Laura, and she has graciously allowed me to share them with you. There is a bingo sheet, a weekly planning page, and an October calendar. You can use them all or just the sheets you find useful.
I’ve got a head start on my bin of blankets that need their ends sewn in. There’s 20 of them total – that’s a lot of ends. But watching the finished stack grow is really exciting!
Have I convinced you to join us for Organized October? I hope so! Leave a comment and let me know where I’ll be able to find you for the challenge this month.
Remember, you can join in on IG or FB – or both! No matter where you prefer to hang out, you’ll be able to find encouragement and support to complete projects this month!
